A community of families and professionals Tuscany Ridge is a relatively close-knit community, consisting of a broad mix of families and working and retired professionals.
Roughly half the existing homes are occupied by families with children. At the time of this writing, there were approximately 20 children living in the neighborhood, distributed fairly evenly across all age groups (including toddlers and preschoolers, and school age children attending local elementary, middle, and high schools).
Most of the adult residents are professionals (including doctors, scientists, engineers, lawyers, accountants, architects, administrators, business owners, psychiatrists, and teachers) working in private industry, health care, and academia. A substantial number of residents are employed by UNC, Duke, or organizations in Research Triangle Park, and quite a few work substantially from their home.
Residents congregate for informal social events weekly, taking advantage of the neighborhood gathering structure when the weather is nice. Larger neighborhood-wide social events are also held in the Spring and Fall.
